How did you get started in the industry?
“I started out in an internship in 2008, I was promoted to GIS Manager within six months after completing my degree. I moved on to a large corporation and worked my way up into a GIS Account Manager for a major client as well as the SDE/ Data Manager for all of Western Canada.”
What are your key responsibilities at AiM?
“As manager of the GIS department I work with my team to innovate and push the limit on what we are able to deliver our clients. I strive to have GIS offer the best quality product in the industry and be at the leading edge of new technologies that support our projects. This may come through traditional forms such as pdfs maps, metric/analytics tables to our web mapping services that provide not only the map but the related documents/data to our clients anywhere in the world.”

What are a few of your proudest achievements at AiM?
“I have played an integral role in development and implementation of our two proprietary software applications; AimDocs and AimMaps. Implementing these software applications on projects has evolved the way we conduct our day to day business while providing an outward facing project foundation for our clients.”
What do you want your clients and colleagues say about you?
“I think our clients would say I am knowledgeable and bring value to their projects. I’m the type of person that wants to see the big picture, to see how everything fits together instead of just thinking task by task.”
What do you value when building relationships?
“I value trust and respect. I treat people the way I want to be treated. I think work relationships are based on producing high quality that is of value but I also think you need to enjoy your work and there be an element of fun.”
How would you describe the environment at AiM?
“The people and the atmosphere are great! For me, the freedom from ownership to pursue new ideas and implement them has provided me with the opportunity to feel like I am able to fulfill my potential.”
What charities or organizations are you involved with?

- Ronald MacDonald House
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
“Spending time with my family, going to my kids events, camping at the lake are the most important. I still like to head out with boys and play hockey.”
