We currently have an opportunity for a Surface Land Administrator in our Calgary office. This role is for someone who possesses great energy and proven experience and who is interested in becoming part of our ongoing story of growth.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate documents as requested and required
  • Prepare and assemble final packages
  • Prepare notifications and crossings ensuring all documentation is saved accordingly
  • Maintain checklists – ensuring all are up to date and complete

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Land Administration certificate (or equivalent experience)
  • Search and review freehold and crown ownership and associated interests

  • Conducting field acquisition work in accordance to applicable laws and regulations
  • Negotiation/acquisition of complex surface land rights including well sites and pipelines, road use, damages, and other surface related issues

  • Exercising attention to detail through proofing
  • Providing reports related to status of projects

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • College Land Agent Diploma
  • Commissioner for Oaths for Alberta (Saskatchewan and/or Manitoba would be an asset)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience or familiarity with Agriculture, pipeline construction, environmental issues, public relations and public awareness

Who you are:

You are a highly skilled web applications developer to work with our product manager and other developers to improve our existing software. You have excellent communication and teamwork skills with a proven ability to write clean and testable code.  You must be a self-starter and enjoy problem solving with some of the industry’s newest technology while working at lightning speed. We are currently converting legacy code to modern technology, all while adding new features and optimizing existing code so you must be able to jump between paradigms quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Writing well designed, robust code
  • Participate in design meetings, giving input for new features and functionality
  • Collaborate with the team to create elegant solutions to complex technical problems
  • Fixing bugs and refactoring legacy code
  • Delivering clean, testable code in a timely manner
  • Can work in a team or individually without supervision
  • Assist in management of spatial and non-spatial data for clients

Skills

  • Strong JavaScript skills using ES6+ syntax
  • Experience with either Angular, React, or Vue
  • A deep understanding on the design of REST based APIs
  • Proficiency in using NodeJS/Express with a testing framework such as Mocha
  • Experience with relational and document database technology (PostgreSQL and MongoDB)
  • An understanding of web application security, session management, and best practices
  • Experience working within a SAAS architecture
  • Experience with event-driven system architectures
  • Knowledge of cloud-based architectures using providers such as AWS or Azure.
  • Comfortable using the Linux command line
  • DevOps experience using Docker is a bonus
  • Understanding of GIS is a bonus
