SAFETY & Training

AiM values safety above all else and believes that we all play a role in raising the bar for safety excellence. That commitment shapes how we operate internally — and it’s also something we offer directly to our clients. Below, you’ll find the certified training courses we deliver to client crews and project teams, along with an inside look at the HSE program, technology, and standards that guide everything we do.

Safety & Training Services

Beyond the safety standards we apply to our own operations, AiM delivers hands-on safety and training services directly to clients and their field personnel.

Our courses combine certified instruction with practical, field-ready skills — helping crews meet compliance requirements while building real competency on the ground.

ATV/UTV Training & Certification

Delivered by Canadian Safety Council (CSC) endorsed instructors, our ATV/UTV courses cover safe operation for field personnel working in remote and off-road conditions. Courses can be scheduled on location and are suited to both new and experienced riders.

Wildlife Awareness & Bear Spray Training

Delivered in partnership with WildSafeBC, this training prepares field crews to recognize wildlife hazards, reduce human-wildlife conflict, and respond safely to encounters in the backcountry.

Ground Disturbance 201

Offered through Safety Vantage, this course covers the fundamentals of safe ground disturbance practices for personnel working near buried utilities and infrastructure.

Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST)

Delivered through BuildForce Canada, PCST provides pipeline construction personnel with the safety orientation required to work on pipeline projects across Canada.

Safety Is Built Into Everything We Do

At AiM, we believe people are our greatest asset. Every service we deliver — on land, in the field, or in the office — is guided by AiM’s Health and Safety Management System (HSMS), which allows projects to move forward on schedule while protecting employees, contractors, visitors, and the environment. This commitment goes beyond compliance: it’s a continuous pursuit of improvement in how we manage health, safety, and environmental risk.

HSE Management Plans

Every project is supported by an HSE Management Plan, built on our corporate HSMS and tailored to the specific risks, scope, and field conditions of the work. These plans cover:

  • Hazard Identification and Risk Management
  • Job Planning and Field Safety Procedures
  • Training and Competency Requirements
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation
  • Emergency Response and Escalation
  • Environmental Protection Measures
  • Contractor and Subcontractor Management
  • Continuous Improvement

Safety Technologies

We back our safety culture with purpose-built technology across every stage of field operations:

  • SafetyAdmin – daily tailgate and field-level hazard assessments, project orientations, emergency response plan creation, and incident/near-miss reporting
  • Workhub – employee and subcontractor training, certification, and orientation management
  • Fleetio – vehicle and equipment inspection tracking, preventive maintenance, and maintenance records

Vendor Management & Compliance

AiM is registered with ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta, and 8am Solutions, giving clients confidence in our safety compliance standing before work even begins.
