Creating Energy Careers

There are some days that truly stand out and inspire a pause to reflect on the meaning, purpose, and impact of our work. Sponsoring the Creating Energy Careers program has always been one of those moments for us as we see what we do reflected with the enthusiasm and unique perspectives of the students we host.

Creating Energy Careers is a great program for students who are interested in discovering and exploring careers found in our industry. Whether they want to pursue a trade, surveying, environmental consulting, administration, quality control, health & safety, or project management, students can explore a wide variety of jobs through this program.

AiM was one of several local industry partners providing a hands-on experience for students from the North Peace Secondary School.

Following a presentation at the school by Cher Batchelor, Lyndon Neville, Lisa Stromsmoe, and Simon Andrews, the students enjoyed a mock field day on a crisp sunny day!

Lyndon onboarded and briefed students on industry safety requirements and practices, and Robyn Neufeldt simulated a dig for them by placing 3D replicas of artefacts in the snow so as not to dig holes.

We had a blast doing this for the 4th year in a row; it’s always a privilege and honour to engage with the community and get to know our future colleagues!
